The head as external reflection This exhibition by Rebecca Skelton explores the landscape of human thought and emotion. By focusing entirely on the head, these drawings peel back the physical surface to reveal internal conflicts, quiet reflections, and psychological weight. Each piece serves as a portrait of a specific mental state, attempting to capture what it feels like to live inside our own minds. This internal complexity is mirrored in the tactile nature of the work. Layered pigmented grounds and colored pencil interact with the texture of the various papers. Just as our minds are shaped by shifting layers of memory and emotion, these faces emerge from a physical buildup of mixed materials—each mark scratching the surface or embedding itself into the fiber of the page.
The evening will also feature live music with Deserie & Jim 6-7 PM.
This is a free community event.
