$600.00

Mixed media in Plexiglas box. 30 x 30 inches.

The Soft Power Assemblage/Collage Series is a group of assemblage collages that combine the ephemeral and the constructed. Fragile precious objects represent fragments of the past with the expressive painterly voice of the present. Over the last decade of pandemic introspection and iconographic scholarship the artist has created a personal language. She employs images and objects from myth, story and personal vision as they relate to her search for a balance between grief, an awareness of politically inspired suffering and earth centered harmony. These collections of memory laden objects not only record her life in the stored moments of their acquisition but house inspiration in unexpected juxtapositions. They are celebrations of the quiet presence of remembrance and certainty set in the high contrast, painted maelstroms of our turbulent world. It is the artist’s hope that at the intersection of the competing pathways where the visual and the tactile meet a new song will be heard.
