Underwater Vibes by Giselle Monteiro

$900.00

Acrylic Paint 36x36x1.5". I don’t plan much when I paint, I just let the colors do their thing and follow wherever they take me. But when I stepped back from this piece, it immediately reminded me of that feeling you get when you’re snorkeling… when you look down and suddenly there’s this whole world happening under you. All the colors, all the shapes, all the movement and so much life in one place. That little moment of “wow” when you didn’t expect to see something so beautiful. That’s the vibe of this piece. Not a literal ocean scene, just that feeling of discovering a colorful, alive world underwater.

ARTIST STATEMENT: I paint the way I move through life… by feeling my way through it. My work isn’t planned or sketched out; it unfolds in the moment as colors, textures, and shapes start interacting with each other. I follow their energy, not a blueprint. I’m drawn to bold, bright colors, often with a pop of pink, because they carry the kind of joy and confidence I want to put into the world. My abstract pieces reflect the way I see things: vibrant, layered, unpredictable, and full of little surprises if you slow down enough to notice them. I create to capture feelings more than forms. Joy, curiosity, calm, chaos, that spark of wonder you get when something unexpectedly beautiful crosses your path. My paintings are invitations to linger, explore, and let your own interpretation rise to the surface. In the end, I don’t paint what I think. I paint what I feel. And I hope my work gives others permission to feel something too.
